Sofia Karnukaeva is an artist and architect based in Barcelona. From a young age, she was passionate about modeling and drawing, which shaped her creative path. With a degree in architecture and experience in interior design, Sofia developed her skills in academic sculpture and drawing, combining architectural thinking with a sensual approach to materials.
Sofia began her artistic practice during the pandemic, creating a series of objects that quickly gained recognition within the art community. Her works were exhibited in several galleries and art events, marking the start of her professional journey as an artist.
In 2022, after relocating from Moscow to Barcelona for political reasons, Sofia embarked on a new chapter, reestablishing her practice in a new environment. Today, she continues to experiment with materials and techniques in her Barcelona studio, viewing each work as a journey from idea to form.
Her artistic process is guided by intuition and experimentation. Sofia observes and interprets the world through form and material, using an intuitive method of transformation. She explores how external conditions influence the emergence of new forms.
